BETHLEHEM BAUBLES

Celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with

Bethlehem Baubles.

Bethlehem Baubles seeks to renew the authentic Christmas spirit by offering an original and thoughtful gift that represents a deeper sense of connection and community.  They are hand blown by Muslims in Hebron, hand painted by Christians in Bethlehem, and shipped by Israelis from Ashdod.

Each bauble arrives in their own presentation box so that they can be carefully stored and treasured for many years to come.  Each box comes with its own certificate of origin. No plastic and made from recycled materials!

With a different design for the collection each year, Bethlehem Baubles have the potential to become an intrinsic and abiding part of the Christmas experience; perfect for stocking fillers, God Children, and that tricky relative who you never know what to get!

Founded by Ros Pollock whilst posted to Jerusalem with the UN,  Bethlehem Baubles aims to provide a grass roots, fair living wage to a struggling community. The project makes a very real difference for the local artisans, particularly the women who are able to paint the baubles at home enabling them to earn while raising a family.

The project is coordinated with the Bethlehem Fair Trade Artisans who employ skilled locals for a variety of crafts and sell beautiful olive wood and ceramic products all around the world. Headed up by Suzan Sahori, BFTA is a family business based off Milk Grotto Street, Bethlehem.  They encourage tours to visit their own shop and venture off the regular tourist beat to see a more genuine side of Bethlehem. Bethlehem Baubles now sell in many renowned shops around the UK - the Ashmolean Museum, Cathedral and church shops including Lambeth Palace, Durham, Liverpool, Bath Abbey, Portsmouth and a host of gift shops and garden centres who have all embraced this wonderful project that encourages a much more genuine celebration of Christmas.

“Our goal is to take Bethlehem Baubles around the world” states Ros “the more we sell the more jobs we create so we would love to find new customers particularly in Europe and the US.  People are growing weary of Asian bling on their Christmas trees and want to celebrate in a more authentic way. By investing in something truly meaningful they can renew the spirit of Christmas each year -  one bauble at a time”
